About Ann
Ann Barros is a senior Iyengar yoga instructor with over 40 years’ experience teaching yoga classes and leading workshops worldwide. Ann first studied with BKS Iyengar in India in 1976 and he personally guided her in curing her scoliosis. In 1980, she received her certification from the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco and returned to study in India. Later that year, she visited Bali for the first time. She never imagined that this beautiful Indonesian island would become her second home.
Yoga in Bali
Since 1985, Ann has led 70+ Yoga in Bali retreats and has formed lifetime bonds in the Ubud region of Bali. She has returned to her beloved Bali annually to lead numerous teacher training programs and workshops.
Now focusing on small groups and privates, Ann’s work has distilled into a personal and highly individualized approach to sharing her wealth of information in the art of teaching and practicing Iyengar yoga. Students who join her special Yoga in Bali retreats develop a solid foundation and understanding of yoga poses and an education of traditional Bali, gaining a deep insight into those unique places.
A resident of Santa Cruz, California, Ann has owned and operated her own yoga studio in the Iyengar tradition since 1993.
